The automotive industry continues to surprise enthusiasts with innovative electric vehicles coming from overseas markets. The well-known manufacturer Dongfeng has officially announced that its latest Dongfeng Xinghai V6 will officially hit the market on September 19. Having previously opened for pre-orders, the lineup consists of four distinct variants with pre-sale prices ranging from 89,900 to 124,900 yuan, which translates to approximately 12,842 to 17,842 US dollars. Positioned as a spacious mid-to-large SUV, it features a practical 2+2+2 six-seat configuration and operates entirely on a pure electric powertrain.
Exterior Design and Dimensions
When it comes to appearance, the Dongfeng Xinghai V6 adopts the brand signature waterfall-style headlights, paired with a closed front grille and a trapezoidal air intake for enhanced visual recognition. Multiple muscle lines stretch across the front hood, injecting a strong sense of athleticism into the vehicle. In terms of physical dimensions, the new car measures 4835 millimeters in length, 1900 millimeters in width, and 1755 millimeters in height, supported by a generous wheelbase of 2900 millimeters.
Inside the cabin, the Dongfeng Xinghai V6 is equipped with a 14.6-inch central control screen combined with an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster, supporting intelligent voice control. The six-seat layout features a completely flat floor across the second and third rows, alongside a convenient third-row fold-flat storage design. Furthermore, the vehicle is packed with 25 high-sensitivity sensors working alongside a proprietary computing platform to provide a complete 360-degree environmental awareness system, advanced highway and urban navigation assistance, and active safety measures.
Powertrain and Range Options
Underneath the sleek exterior, the Dongfeng Xinghai V6 is powered by an electric motor delivering a maximum power output of 135 kW and a peak torque of 260 Nm. Buyers can choose between two lithium iron phosphate battery packs with capacities of 45.5 kWh and 60.5 kWh respectively. Depending on the battery choice, the vehicle delivers a CLTC pure electric driving range of 400 km and 510 km on a single charge, making it an excellent choice for families.
